Signed presentation from Zaide on the verso of the front endpaper: 'To Commander Hugh Longino, With my compliments, Gregorio F. Manila, July 6, 1966.' Longino was commanding officer of the VP-40 seaplane squadron and on May 17, 1967 conducted the last anti-submarine patrol over the South China Sea during his squadron's deployment in the Philippines at the Sangley Point seadrome. The squadron was formed at the outset of the Korean War but was dismantled in 1967.
